Visit some of San Antonio’s best parks and greenways this Spring Break! Use the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department’s cool Find a Park tool to be sure the park you’re going to visit has the amenities you need. And, don’t miss one of San Antonio’s coolest parks: Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair Park (it has a splash pad!)
Stars and Stripes Drive-in Theater
Head up IH-35 North a bit to New Braunfels for a drive-in movie, double feature experience. This one-of-a-kind theme park, built for individuals with special needs, is open during Spring Break. There are more than 25 attractions such as rides, playgrounds and other fun elements, including a colorful, five-and-a-half-story-high Ferris wheel, Whirling Wonder. Plus, Morgan’s Wonderland has added lots of special, daily events, entertainment, and activities this year!
Mitchell Lake Audubon Center
There’s a lot to do at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center this Spring Break. Go on hikes and learn all about the birds and various habitats.

Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch
Some fondly call it the “drive-thru” zoo but Natural Wildlife Ranch is so much more. Our previous post about the Ranch explains why this is one stop on your Spring Break list you just can’t miss. In 2015, the San Antonio Missions were designated as a World Heritage Site – a huge honor as it’s the only one in the state of Texas! They’re also free to visit, and there are four of them (not counting the Alamo): Mission Concepción, Mission San José, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada. Built in the 1700s, these missions are still active Catholic parishes today.
The San Antonio Missions are a UNSECO World Heritage Site you won’t want to miss, filled with history and religious importance. You’ll see four out of the five missions of the site, as well as La Villita Historic Arts Village, Alamo Plaza, and the Espada Aqueduct.

Check out the Briscoe Western Art Museum
Members, active military, and kids 12 and under are always free; family members of active-duty military members are $8; seniors (65+ years), retired/veteran military (with ID), and students (13-18 years), college students (with ID) are just $12; and adults are $14 each.
The Briscoe is always free to visit the first Sunday of each month for locals. Kids love the Briscoe and the mystery surrounding the days of stagecoaches, old guns, riding on horseback, and epic battles.
