There is the Phil Hardberger Park that offers nearly 5 miles of paved and unpaved trails. This park is great for getting out and exploring with your family.

There is also Brackenridge Park. There is lots to do in this 343-acre park located below the San Antonio River’s headwaters, including various easy walking routes, more than 100 picnic, and grilling spaces, and convenient access to the San Antonio Zoo, Witte Museum, and DoSeum. San Antonio is home to some of the best museums in the world. Whether you are looking for history, science, arts, culture or anything else, there is surely a museum that you will enjoy.

The Witte is one of the top museums in Texas and the surrounding areas for learning about nature, science, and culture. With such a wide layout, you may quickly lose yourself in the hands-on activities and spend many hours studying. There are plenty of great options for things to do in San Antonio without breaking the bank. If you are looking for outdoor activities, there are some great cheap and even free options.

Visit one of the many lakes and water bodies in the San Antonio area is an excellent choice for a weekend activity. The Medina River is a great option because it is a natural nature area that has roughly seven miles of trails. This river is great for fishing, camping, or even going for a small swim.

There is also the Elmendorf Lake located on the west side of San Antonio. This hidden gem has a vast lake making for a perfect day outside. Along with the bird sanctuary where ducks swim, people can kayak in the water, kids can play on the jungle gym, and more.

There are also lots of cheap things to do in San Antonio at night! The River Walk, arguably one of the best attractions in San Antonio, is great for both locals and tourists. Entrance to the Riverwalk is free and nighttime is the best time to enjoy their twinkling lights and silvery water.

The Blue Star Arts Complex located in Southtown, is one of the better-known open galleries in the area. The eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, galleries, and shops always has fun events on the weekend. You can also visit nearby Gallista Gallery and the South Flores Arts District.
