Credit: Chuy's FacebookSince the onset of the pandemic, many of us have forgone the usual restaurant visits, instead working on our cooking chops at home. And one thing that’s fun to do is try and recreate dishes from your favorite restaurants. One of our favorites is the Creamy Jalapeño Sauce from Chuy’s. You know, the green sauce. Or spicy ranch dip. Or whatever you call it… it’s just phenomenal… the reason we are almost never hungry by the time our main dishes arrive.

Having said that, it’s worth noting that Chuy’s is still offering to-go food and even delivery using DoorDash. We definitely believe you should be supporting local restaurants (and we haven’t been able to recreate their Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas!). However, we also know that in these difficult times, ordering out constantly isn’t doable financially. And we also need some fun activities to change up the pace!

So with all that in mind, here’s a fun activity for you. Try to recreate the delicious dip with this Chuy’s Creamy Jalapeño Sauce copycat recipe!

The Ingredients

Note: You’re going to need a blender. If you don’t have one, check out these suggestions on Amazon. And if you’re looking to avoid going to the store, we recommend ordering via Instacart.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need for the Creamy Jalapeño Ranch Dip copycat recipe:

  • 1 packet of powdered Hidden Valley Ranch
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapenos (strained)
  • 1/2 cup tomatillo sauce
  • 1 tbs jalapeno juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • Optional: squeeze of fresh lime juice
  • Optional: 1/3 cup sour cream for creamier dip

The Directions

Take all the ingredients, dump them in your blender, and mix until smooth. Refrigerate and serve cold. That’s it!

How’d it turn out for you? Tell us in the comments below!
