When talking about San Antonio, Fiesta and its many events are bound to come up. Fiesta is a long-celebrated tradition cherished by the people who live within the city. Fiesta originally started as a one-day parade to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. The celebration of events now spans over 10 days.
The Fiesta San Antonio Commission recently published the official fiesta event calendar for this year. The celebration was canceled in 2021 so there is a lot of excitement. This year’s Fiesta dates are from 17 June to 27 June 2021. Make sure to mark those on your calendar!
While things may look a little different this year due to COVID-19 safety protocols, there is a lot to look forward to. The Fiesta San Antonio Commission has worked together with the help of volunteers to stage many events. Fan favorites like NIOSA and the River Parade are just two of the many fun events that will happen.
If your schedule is busy, there are at least two events happening during any given day. This gives you the chance to at least participate once. From 5Ks all the way to parades there is a wide variety of events that’ll remind you why San Antonio is so great. Times for each individual event vary. Many of them will take place downtown or near the central San Antonio area.
Some events do cost money for admission, but there are several that are free making the celebration more enjoyable. So don’t forget to take a peek at the official event calendar and start planning with your family and friends. If there is any time to experience San Antonio and its rich food, culture, and people — it’s during Fiesta season.
Viva Fiesta!
