Looking for a fun date idea? Are you interested in touring a hemp farm? How about helping harvest hemp? Pur IsoLabs often offers tours but have recently decided to open up their harvesting for public participation.

The hemp farm in Bergheim can be found just outside San Antonio and is making strides to become more interactive. Hemp harvesting season is in full swing and interested parties can book tours and participate in harvesting hemp. Those who are interested in harvesting hemp will get to be the first to participate in the first hemp plants grown in Texas in a long time.

An official at Pur IsoLabs explains that guests can “schedule a harvest experience and meander the hemp field, while engaging in an immersive sensory experience,” The hemp farm also offers hemp CBD products made from the plants grown on-site for purchase. Tour admission is $20 and includes a gift from the farm. Touring hours are from Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm and on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. Anyone can schedule a tour by calling (830)-755-8000.

Officials say that “due to the experience being a natural process, it is to be determined when the Hemp Harvest Experience will end,”

Concerned about the legality of hemp farms? Hemp and marijuana both find their roots within the cannabis family. However, “the differentiation occurs with the THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, levels,” explains Pur Isolabs spokesperson Meggan Roundtree.

She also explains that “Any plant with a level of under 0.3% is designated as hemp and legal in most states. Plants with levels over this 0.3% (generally 5% to 35%) are classified as marijuana.” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1325 on June 10, 2019, which authorizes the production, manufacture, retail sale, and inspection of industrial hemp crops and products in Texas. So, yes. Harvesting hemp is legal and you can participate at Pur Isolabs. They’re located at 46 North FM 3351 in Bergheim, Texas.
