Family-Friendly Halloween Events San Antonio
Corny Maze & Enchanted Lights at Traders Village
Bring the family to Traders Village for a solid family Halloween outing that starts in a 10-acre corn maze and ends with a mile-long drive through thousands of glowing Halloween displays.
The maze has three difficulty levels, so younger kids can stick to an easier route while older kids and adults can take on something a little more challenging.
Once the sun goes down, climb back into the car for the Enchanted Lights show, where the displays light up to a Halloween soundtrack.
The Enchanted Lights show runs through October 31, so Halloween night is your last chance to see it.
Kids can also paint pumpkins, visit the petting zoo, and play carnival games, while adults can try the axe-throwing attraction. The corn maze stays open through November 8 if you’d rather save that part for another visit.
Tickets for the light show start at $29.99 per vehicle. The corn maze and other attractions are priced separately.
When: September 18 – November 8, 2026
Where: Traders Village San Antonio, 9333 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78242
How Much: $9.99 for corny maze
Zoo Boo! at San Antonio Zoo
Bring the kids to SA Zoo Boo for an afternoon of trick-or-treating, animals, and just enough Halloween creepiness to keep things interesting.
The San Antonio Zoo has hosted the event for 40 years, and 2026 brings a new Fiesta de los Muertos trail with stops at the Plaza de los Recuerdos, Marigold Bridge, and Ofrenda de Animales.
The Ofrenda is a tribute to animals the zoo has lost over the years and adds a more meaningful moment to an otherwise lively Halloween event.
Kids 12 and under can trick-or-treat for free from 4 to 5 PM at six stations around the zoo. The rest of Zoo Boo includes live entertainment and a DJ every Saturday, while older kids and adventurous adults can head to the John and Greli Less Spider Rainforest for real spider encounters.
On October 18, bring the family dog along for Dog Day, which includes a dog-friendly trick-or-treat trail and costume contest.
The zoo stays open until 9 PM on Halloween with special evening programming, giving you plenty of time to make an evening of it. Halloween masks are permitted only for children under 12.
When: September 20 – October 31, 2026
Where: San Antonio Zoo, 3903 N St Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX 78212

Spend the day at SeaWorld Spooktacular for a kid-friendly Halloween event in San Antonio filled with candy, colorful decorations, and plenty of things to keep little ones busy.
Running Thursdays through Sundays through November 1, the event includes trick-or-treating stops for kids 12 and under, the Spookley the Square Pumpkin Maze, and Día de los Muertos displays decorated with hand-painted alebrijes and accompanied by traditional folk music.
If you have a Baby Shark fan at home, make time for the new live Baby Shark and Pinkfong Halloween show at the Rescue Jr. Stage. The production is exclusive to SeaWorld San Antonio and isn’t playing anywhere else in Texas.
Trick-or-treat candy is available while supplies last, so arriving earlier in the day is a good idea.
But keep an eye on the clock if you’re bringing younger kids. At 7 PM, the park transitions into Howl-O-Scream, its separate adult-oriented Halloween event.

The event takes over 41 acres of gardens for one morning, with trick-or-treat stations along the paths, hands-on activities, pumpkin painting, and nature-themed educational stops.
It’s a nice change of pace if you want your family Halloween plans to include some time outdoors rather than spending the entire day around rides and carnival attractions. You can wander through the garden, let the kids collect their treats, and still have the afternoon free for another Halloween event or a trip around San Antonio.

This year’s live show, The Wonder Squad! in the Friendship Flytrap, takes place at the Starlight Amphitheater and follows the characters as they try to rescue a captured Friendship Fairy from a giant spider.
Morgan’s Wonderland is designed for guests of all abilities, with accessibility built into the park’s rides, pathways, and attractions, making it one of the most inclusive family Halloween options in San Antonio. Individuals with special needs receive free admission, and the park extends its hours on Halloween night for illuminated rides and trick-or-treating after dark.

Cavern Bat Fest at Natural Bridge Caverns
Come see Halloween’s most famous creature in its natural habitat at Cavern Bat Fest.
Natural Bridge Caverns sits next to Bracken Cave, home to an enormous colony of Mexican free-tailed bats. Each October evening, an estimated 15 to 20 million bats leave the cave to feed, eating more than 150 tons of insects before morning.
The festival turns that spectacle into a family outing with a free mini-hay maze, bat-themed scavenger hunt, live music from local performers, yard games, and fall photo spots.
Dress the family in Halloween costumes and you’ll also get free admission to the AMAZEn’ Ranch Round-Up maze. On October 25 and 26, kids can stop by for free trick-or-treating from 3 to 5 PM.
There’s one costume detail to remember before you go: decorative Halloween masks aren’t permitted on the property for guests 10 and older. Costumes are welcome, but you’ll need to leave the full-face masks at home.
Most festival activities are free, while cavern tours are ticketed separately and priced according to the attraction.

Where: Natural Bridge Caverns, 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266

The Spooktacular Halloween Bash takes place October 30 from 7 to 11 PM, with live music, food trucks, a trunk-or-treat car show, pumpkin carving, a costume contest, a moon bounce, and a Fun Zone for kids.
The trunk-or-treat gives younger kids an easy way to collect candy without walking around an entire neighborhood. You can move from decorated car to decorated car while the kids fill their bags, then stick around for the other activities happening throughout the plaza.
There’s also a Dracula 4D movie experience inside the Tower if you want to add something a little creepier to the evening.

Trick or Treat on the Trail — Brackenridge Park

The Ghisallo Cycling Initiative and Brackenridge Park Conservancy are turning the Red Oak Trail into a car-free trick-or-treat route, with more than 15 community stations handing out candy, running games, and offering free health and safety resources.
The route starts at Koehler Pavilion near the zoo entrance and continues toward Mulberry Street.
You and the kids can walk the trail in costume alongside the San Antonio River, stopping at each station as you go.
There are no cars weaving through the route, and the wooded park setting makes the whole outing feel different from a typical neighborhood or parking-lot trick-or-treat.

The Trick or Treat Trail runs alongside the Corny Maze and Enchanted Lights, so you can start with candy and costumes, tackle the maze in the afternoon, then settle into the car for the mile-long light show after dark.
All three are running together only during October, with Enchanted Lights wrapping up on Halloween night.
The Trick or Treat Trail is free every Saturday and Sunday in October. The corn maze and Enchanted Lights require separate admission.

Retama Park Trunk or Treat SA (Creepy Crawlers)
One of the best trunk or treat SA events on the calendar, Creepy Crawlers brings more than 80 Jeeps to Retama Park, each one decorated with its own Halloween theme and loaded with treats.
You can bring the whole crew in costume, too. The costume contest has separate categories for dogs, kids ages 0–12, teens 13–17, and adults 18 and up, so your pup can compete right alongside the kids.
The Headless Horseman also makes a surprise appearance during the evening, something older kids may love and younger ones may want to inspect from a safe distance.
It’s one of the earlier trunk-or-treat SA events on the calendar, so you’ll want to put it on your list before October gets busy.

Adult Halloween Parties & Bar Crawls
The Horror Section Pop-Up Bar at Be Kind & Rewind

Image credit: Be Kind and Rewind
If your idea of a good Halloween involves horror movies, questionable decisions after midnight, and cocktails served in a bar covered in VHS nostalgia, make your way to Be Kind & Rewind.
The downtown bar already looks like someone raided a ’90s video store and a horror-movie collection, with VHS covers lining the walls, vintage horror figures on display, murals by local artist Colton Valentine, and cocktail menus designed to look like cassette tapes.
For The Horror Section, the bar goes all in.
The pop-up takes over the entire venue with elaborate horror decor, themed photo spots, spooky cocktails, roaming monsters, and weekend events that turn the bar into a full-on Halloween hangout.
Costumes are strongly encouraged.
Entry is free Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday nights have a $7 cover after 9 PM.
When: September 11 – October 31, 2026
Where: Be Kind and Rewind, 115 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

Nightly Spirits Booze and Boos Tour®

Grab a drink, follow a costumed guide through downtown, and let San Antonio’s actual history provide the creepy parts. The Nightly Spirits Booze and Boos Tour® takes you through several historic bars and buildings over about 2.5 hours, with 3 to 4 stops along the way.
The tour begins at Maverick Whiskey on Broadway before moving through places with their own strange histories.
At the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, you’ll stop at Bar 414, named for the room where blues legend Robert Johnson recorded in 1936. The hotel also has a connection to an unsolved 1960s murder.
Over at the St. Anthony Hotel, you can grab a drink at Haunt, where the cocktails are named after some of the hotel’s documented ghosts.
The Alamo is part of the route as well, giving you a chance to see one of San Antonio’s most recognizable landmarks after dark while hearing about the history surrounding it.
The stories are tied to the buildings and people who actually shaped San Antonio, which gives the tour more substance than a collection of made-up ghost tales.
Guests must be 21 or older and have valid ID. Departure locations also vary by day: Maverick Whiskey on Wednesday through Saturday nights and the Sheraton Gunter Hotel lobby on Sundays through Tuesdays.
When: Varies by schedule
Where: Various locations in San Antonio
How Much: $29.95 per person
Six Flags Fiesta Texas Fright Fest
Put aside the mild Halloween decorations and head to Fiesta Texas when the sun goes down.
Fright Fest turns 30 in 2026, and the anniversary brings six haunted mazes, seven scare zones, nine live entertainment experiences, and nighttime roller coasters surrounded by fog, custom lighting, and eerie sound effects.
The new Conjuring Universe maze is the big addition, taking you inside the Warrens’ occult museum with appearances from Annabelle, The Nun, and the Perron farmhouse.
SAW: Legacy of Terror returns with Jigsaw’s traps, while two new scare zones bring their own brand of trouble: Cirkus Bezerkus drops you into a sinister, run-down circus, and Alley of the Dead turns a neon-lit street into zombie territory.
Don’t skip the lantern experience if you’re planning to spend the whole night here. For $49.99, you get a specialty lantern that activates hidden effects at more than 25 locations around the park. Monsters react, hidden surprises appear, and some scares only happen when you’re carrying one.
Fright Fest is recommended for guests 13 and older. And guests 17 and younger must have a chaperone who is at least 21.
Also, leave the elaborate Halloween costume at home: guests 11 and older cannot wear costume masks, full-face paint, or costume attire inside the park.
When: September 11 – November 1, 2026
Where: Six Flags Fiesta, San Antonio, TX 78257
How Much: Entry is included in admission | Haunted attraction pass starts at $35
