Send an Old Fashioned Valentine via Pony Express
If your Valentine lives or works downtown, stop by the Briscoe Western Art Museum now through February 12 to pen a letter to your love. The Pony Express will deliver your love note for free during lunch on the 13th.
Show the Love in Travis Park
On February 12 and 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a $1 donation to Travis Park at the Kiosk gets you a carnation to give to a friend, coworker, or loved one for Valentine’s Day. Donations go towards purchasing new games for Travis Park members.
Anti-Valentine’s Day Celebration
The Lantana Spa at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort hosts an evening of free spa treatment demos, food and drinks, and raffle prizes as an alternative to those sappy Valentine’s Day date nights. Show the Love, Spread the Love
Join the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas on Thursday, February 12, for their “tons of love” food drive. This free event, open to the community, runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center (5622 W. Cesar Chavez Blvd., 78237). Bring canned food to donate and enjoy music, crafts, and light refreshments.
Watch a Romantic Movie Under the Stars
Movies by Moonlight in Travis Park presents a free showing of Sleepless in Seattle on Friday, February 13, in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Pre-entertainment begins at 6:00 p.m. with the film beginning at 7:00 p.m. Cocktails, food trucks, music, and more will be on hand to create a love-filled evening.
Turn Valentine’s Day into your Anniversary
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Valentine’s Day, the Bexar County Courthouse holds free mass wedding ceremonies throughout Valentine’s Day. Be sure to get your marriage license at least three days before the ceremony.
Renew Your Vows in Market Square
Declare, again, your everlasting love in one of two special vow renewal ceremonies at Market Square in San Antonio on Valentine’s Day at either 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. The first 100 couples receive a special gift.
Treat yourself right this Valentine’s Day morning with a free class at Pure Barre Stone Oak. Choose an 8:30 a.m. or 9:45 a.m. class on February 14. Register ahead of time by visiting the Pure Barre website with using code “LOVEYOURBODY.”
