SeaWorld in San Antonio, Texas is changing its hours. The park has decided to stay open all year long, beginning in January of 2021. This is the first time that the park has changed hours of operation in over a decade. While the park is transitioning into a year-round open policy, the park will only be open for a few days a week, and reservations are necessary.

As of now, reservations for weekends in January and February are available. A news release explains that SeaWorld plans to bring back some of their more popular attractions like “Wild Days, a celebration of wild animals and wild coasters”. This exciting program will run during the month of January from Jan. 9-31.

The Wild Days celebration highlights the importance of conservation while also allowing “guests the opportunity to explore the animal kingdom, inspire them to care for nature, and encourage them to act and preserve the wild wonders of the world, all while having the thrill of a lifetime.”

SeaWorld has also added another fun attraction to the calendar. During the month of February, SeaWorld attendees can expect a new Mardi Gras celebration that will be in full swing from February 6-28th. Mardi Gras festival guests can look forward to delicious specialty cocktails, classic New Orleans style food in the forms of “jambalaya, po-boys, shrimp and andouille skewers with dirty rice, and the ever-popular freshly made beignets.”. SeaWorld is taking their new hours of the operation seriously and rolling out plenty of themed fun for the residents of San Antonio.

SeaWorld is also striving to stay safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the globe, and also San Antonio, Texas. Visitors that enter SeaWorld are required to make online reservations. All visitors are also instructed to wear masks in hopes of following the new COVID-19 protocols.
