SA Zoo Giraffe Feeding
Get close and personal with giraffes at this interactive feeding experience. Before your experience, you’ll get directions on feeding them safely and learn some fun facts about these tall and friendly creatures. The giraffe pictured above is named Cosmo – he’s a picky eater, so you may receive another green plant instead of lettuce.
SA Zoo Train
Take a break from walking and catch a ride on the Zoo train! The San Antonio Zoo train rides roughly 2 miles long and takes visitors around Brackenridge Park, closely located to the Zoo.
SA Zoo Kangaroo Krossing
The Kangaroo Krossing is a relatively new experience at the Zoo. This experience is home to the red kangaroos and part of the Wild Australia realm. Kangaroo Krossing tickets are currently $8 for a closer encounter.

Five Localite Tips for Making the Most Of Your Visit to the Zoo
1.Bring Quarters
Throughout the Zoo, there are several posts filled with food for fish. It only costs a quarter to receive a handful of food to feed them! No doubt these mini stops add to the Zoo experience.
2. San Antonio Zoo Parking
In addition to the open lot, the SA Zoo now has a parking garage. You can park for the Zoo directly near the entrance in the open surface lot or inside the Zoo garage during zoo operation hours for no fee!
3. Plan An Early Visit
Take advantage of a less crowded Zoo by planning your visit early. An early visit allows you to take time when snapping photos and provides cooler walking weather.
4. Take Breaks
If an early visit isn’t possible, don’t sweat it – though you may sweat, after all, the Zoo is 36 acres large. The long path is shaded at points, and some exhibits are enclosed, but it’s important to take breaks and stay hydrated. Benches are located along the pathway and concessions for those needed rest breaks.
