The San Antonio Museum of Art is located along our world-famous Riverwalk in the historic Lone Star Brewery complex. When Will San Antonio Museum of Art Reopen?
Great news everybody, the San Antonio Museum of Art has announced its return! The museum will reopen to members on May 26 and 27, and to the general public on May 28. As per state guidelines, it will only operate at 25% capacity to start. Staff and visitors will be required to wear masks.
Hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. The museum will be closed on Monday.
The gift shop will remain closed, as well as all public event programming.

Admission to the museum starts at $20 for adults, but there are many ways you can save on admission. Read on to learn about the different discount ticket options available.

3. Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders have special free entry days
As a member of the “Museums on Us” program, San Antonio Museum of Art free tickets are available on the first full weekend of every month to Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders.
4. Employees of corporate sponsors get free entry
If you’re an employee of the Valero Energy Foundation, you can enjoy free general admission with your company ID thanks to their corporate sponsorship of the museum.
5. Ride the bus and save on entry
If you’re a VIVA Culture Bus rider, you can get San Antonio Museum of Art discount tickets — $2 off — when showing your bus ticket at the ticket window.
6. Many others get discount admission
There are SAMA discount tickets available for many other residents, including $17 for seniors 65+, $12 for students, and free admission for children 12 & under.

In addition to all of the other discounts and freebies above, the museum has free general admission for all on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
