How do you want to spend Labor Day Weekend? San Antonio has a little something for everyone, and there are plenty of things to do this Labor Day. We’ve done the leg work for you- all you have to do is book and enjoy!

ALL WEEKEND LONG

San Antonio Riverwalk Labor Day Artisan Show– In addition to all of their usual shops and restaurants, the Riverwalk is hosting its annual Labor Day Artisan Show. Local artists, artisans, and makers will be on site with their wares on sale. There’s no cover and the event runs Friday through Monday!

Kendall County Fair– Thursday through Sunday, you can head out to the Kendall County Fair for a morning parade and tailgate party followed by a fair and rodeo. Admission is free for kids aged 12 and under. Everyone else is just $10.

Backyard Market at Rubens– This local market for artists and artisans also offers farm-fresh produce and locally sourced goods. They’re open every day this weekend- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Historic Market Square– Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with live bands in the plaza. Shops will open as usual at 10 am and the music kicks off at 12 noon. The party goes on through Monday with no admission fee!

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30

Future Stars of Magic at the Magik Theatre– The Future Stars of Magic Show is this Friday evening and the public gets to help vote for the winner! You’ll laugh your butt off, and wonder how in the world they pulled off those tricks! Admission is $15 per person.

Free Labor Day Weekend Concert at Naranja Bar– Located inside Hotel Valencia at the Riverwalk, this bar is hosting a free concert starting at 5 pm. Randy Cordero will be performing flamenco, live and in person. Admission is free!

Free Ice Cream Sandwiches at Tiffwich– If you haven’t tried a Tiffwich, this is the best time to do it! From 7 – 9 pm, Tiffwich will be giving away free ice cream sandwiches at their Northwest Location.

The Lost Cajun Anniversary Party– Hosting their Anniversary Party this Friday evening, The Lost Cajun is an awesome way to kick off Labor Day weekend. There will be giveaways and awesome music from 7:30 – 10:30 pm.

Community Party at Dakota East Side Ice House– This ice house is the home of the 5th Friday Community Party, complete with art, music, food, vendors, and more. Admission is free! The party starts at 6 pm.

Free Concert at Tower of the Americas– Every Friday evening, stop by the Tower of the Americas for Party on the Tower Plaza. The event features live music by a variety of bands. This Friday, enjoy performances by Nerdy by Nature. Admission is free.

Friday Night Cruisin’ Car Show at Biff Buzby’s Burgers– On the last Friday of each month, grab a burger and check out some classic cars at Friday Night Cruisin’. The event is free to attend, just be sure to bring cash or card for your dinner!

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 31

UFO Festival at Wonderland of Americas Mall– If you’re into UFOs, this is the perfect festival for you! Admission is free and art prints are available for purchase. The event runs 10 am to 6 pm with kids activities, craft vendors, and more.

Outdoor Farmers Market at Rolling Oaks Mall- On Saturdays and Sundays, head to Rolling Oaks Mall for an outdoor market. Admission is free and you’ll enjoy prepared foods, small vendors, local artists, and more. The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and until 6 pm on Sunday.

Concert at Noble Lounge– This lounge and dance club is hosting an Old School Jam with live music, food, and drink specials. NCS will be performing their smooth vocal trio with tributes to Marvin Gay, Ron Isley, Barry White, and more. Admission is just $15 per person.

Labor Day Weekend Parade in Bandera, Texas– The Bandera Round-Up Parade begins at 11 am and is followed by a rodeo and fair. You’ll enjoy live music, a mock gun fight, and more.

Jazz & Anime at Carmens De La Calle Cafe– A Cowboy Bebop Jazz & Anime Night is going down this Saturday in the center of Downtown San Antonio. Admission is $25 per person.

TasteFest– Going down at Pittman-Sullivan Park, this mega festival includes over 40 food trucks, a movie theater,  live music, a kids zone,  graffiti zones, vendors, and so much more. The festival runs both Saturday and Sunday and admission runs $25 per person.

 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

Caribbean Mix Labor Day Festival– Get ready to be immersed in Caribbean culture at the Caribbean Labor Day Festival featuring music, food, and vendors showcasing the culture. Admission begins at $15.

Kappa Kajun Seafood Festival– The Kappa Kajun Seafood Festival is open to the public. The event is family-friendly and includes cajun dishes prepared by Smashin’ Crab restaurant. Admission is free, you’ll just pay for your food and drinks beginning at 10 am.

San Antonio VegFest– The very first VegFest in San Antonio is going down this Satuday and Sunday. The family and child-friendly event is going down at Historic Sunset Station. There will be delicious foods, giveaways, cooking demos, interactive activities, and more. Admission begins at $5 per person.

The Ants Go Marching at San Antonio Botanical Garden– This special event features the cast of Magik Theater. The Ants Go Marching will be performed live. Admission is $15 per person for everyone over the age of 1 and also includes admission to the gardens. The play starts at 2 pm.

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Labor Day Morning Run at La Gloria– If you’re looking for an early morning run for Labor Day, this is your gig! The run starts at 6 am and joining in is totally free.

Labor Day Party at Pearl Brewery– The Historic Pearl is hosting a Labor Day Party complete with live music and food catering. Admission is free, just pay for your food and drinks.

Live Poetry at The Amp Room– Enjoy a night of spoken word poetry without a cover charge! Admission is free and begins at 8 pm with live poetry read all night long.

Free Concert at Sanchos Cocina– Join George Prado and friends for a free jam night. Enjoy the performance or pitch in yourself! Admission is free, just pay for your food and drinks.
