Hopscotch has 14 interactive installations that are the product of multiple artists who’ve collaborated to bring you an experience like never before. Exhibitions rotate over time. Besides the exhibitions, there’s a public lounge, patio, and food truck space!

Blue Star Art Contemporary

In the Blue Star Art District, you can find several galleries. However, the Blue Star Contemporary is the first nonprofit venue for contemporary art. There are over 20 on and offsite exhibits every year, all of which provide an insight into contemporary art. If you’re looking for a taste of modern, visit the Blue Star.

San Antonio Museum of Art

Right off the River Walk, you can find the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA). SAMA has several wings in which you can find years of art – Greek, the ancient Americas, all the way to folk art. The SAMA also hosts several events for the public to partake in. Visit their site to see what’s happening.

Villa Finale

Cinnabar Art Gallery

Essex Modern City

While this may not be a traditional indoor gallery, true art is far from traditional. At Essex, you can find murals painted on concrete walls in what used to be an abandoned lot. Essex began with the idea to project art with the community. If you ever find yourself with a beautiful day, head down to this modern city.

A contemporary art center inspired by a dream. The building itself can be considered art as it was designed by David Adjaye, a leading architect of the generation. Within the walls, you can find interactive exhibitions as well as powerful statements of art.

McNay Art Museum
The McNay is probably the most popular museum in San Antonio. On the 25 acres of land, there are permanent works as well as rotating exhibits. Some are interactive and feature local artists. The McNay also often hosts public events. Visit their site to see what’s happening.
