Blue Star Art Contemporary
In the Blue Star Art District, you can find several galleries. However, the Blue Star Contemporary is the first nonprofit venue for contemporary art. There are over 20 on and offsite exhibits every year, all of which provide an insight into contemporary art. If youโre looking for a taste of modern, visit the Blue Star.

San Antonio Museum of Art
Right off the River Walk, you can find the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA). SAMA has several wings in which you can find years of art โ Greek, the ancient Americas, all the way to folk art. The SAMA also hosts several events for the public to partake in. Visit their site to see whatโs happening.

Artpace San Antonio
Artpace is another contemporary art gallery in San Antonio. Here you can find works by regional, national, and international artists. There are both residency artworks and exhibitions that rotate.

Villa Finale

The Villa Finale was home to a local preservationist. Now, itโs home to a museum and garden filled with fine and decorative art. The artworks come from the last owner who had a collection of over 12,000 items. Stroll through the beautiful grounds to enjoy the historic view.

Cinnabar Art Gallery

Essex Modern City
While this may not be a traditional indoor gallery, true art is far from traditional. At Essex, you can find murals painted on concrete walls in what used to be an abandoned lot. Essex began with the idea to project art with the community. If you ever find yourself with a beautiful day, head down to this modern city.

A contemporary art center inspired by a dream. The building itself can be considered art as it was designed by David Adjaye, a leading architect of the generation. Within the walls, you can find interactive exhibitions as well as powerful statements of art.

McNay Art Museum

UTSA Main Art Gallery (TEMPORARILY CLOSED)
It may seem odd to head to a university to view art, but the Main Art Gallery is home to exhibitions by professional artists and students. Many of the exhibitions range from various topics so drop in whenever youโre looking for a change of art galleries.
