June is nationally recognized as pride month, and in San Antonio, the 2021 events are already underway. Pride month pays tribute to the Gay Liberation Movement that occurred in the United States. Throughout the month, the LGBT community and organizations host events to honor, remember, and celebrate this freedom – and everyone is welcomed.

PICKLEBALL AND PRIDE TOURNAMENT

Get ready to work up a sweat at this pickleball game! All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Pride Center of San Antonio. If you’re good enough, the top three winners receive prizes. But if you’re not, there’s food, drinks, and raffles so you can still go to support.

YOGA AT ELSEWHERE: PRIDE EVENT

Yoga is an activity that everyone can enjoy. This practice is offered on two days and is about acknowledging the freedom to be you. The donations for the event go towards empowering LGBTQ+ youth in San Antonio.

FIESTA FRENZY 2021

Join in on celebrating power and pride from the perspectives of the LGBT community. With live performances, food, and drinks, get ready for a fun evening. LGBT events like these are always full of energy!

CELEBRATE PRIDE ON THE STRIP
Join a plethora of people in celebration on the Strip! This block party will feature vendors, food, drinks, and more. With several of the hottest clubs in San Antonio, the strip is the place to be for pride 2021.

PRIDE BIGGER THAN TEXAS PARADE

This year the annual Pride parade of San Antonio will be virtual. While it won’t be the usual marching down the streets in fascinating glam, there will be makeup tutorials, a peace love pride wedding, and guests.

STEPS FOR PRIDE
Getting outside and taking steps towards a great rest of the year is the perfect way to end a month of celebration. This event, hosted by Circle of Arms Hiking Heroes is for everyone – family and pet friendly. So get your flags and throw on the colors of the rainbow and step in the right direction!

While San Antonio has its 2021 pride events spread throughout the month, these events aren’t the only way to celebrate. Bakery Lorraine is offering rainbow-themed cookies throughout the month. Lick-Honest Ice Cream in the Pearl is offering a rainbow flavor in honor of Pride. And more than not, purchases of these limited edition products go towards an LGBT-friendly organization. So go out to support, learn, and most importantly, celebrate.
