Thrift stores work to support the needy and assist the most disadvantaged members of their communities. Thrift stores go by many other names, including consignment shops, second-hand stores, resale shops, and hospice shops.
Volunteers who are willing to assist typically work at the stores, frequently going through donations that customers drop off. These used items are then offered for sale to the general public, giving people in need a useful service at a reasonable cost!
