It’s official… for the first time in its history of 60 years, Wurstfest has been cancelled. The festival had been scheduled for November 6-15th. However, the Wurstfest Board of Directors met on July 21st to consider the issue, and subsequently decided that cancellation was the prudent move.
The festival is one of the most popular events in New Braunfels, celebrating the German heritage of the Texas Hill Country. But it’s more than that – it’s a way for local non-profits to raise money to benefit the community. However, since the festival is being canceled, this could have a negative impact. The non-profits that take part in Wurstfest depend on the festival to meet fundraising goals for the year.
“Plans for fundraising efforts to help support these organizations will be announced in the coming weeks,” the announcement said.
However, you can help by making donations. Below, you’ll find a list of non-profits that depend on Wurstfest, along with their contact information for donations.
