Disclosure: I received food and beverages and frozen seafood samples from attending the Sea Best blogger event. However, all opinions are mine.

Recently I attended an event  hosted by Sea Best at the CIA. They wanted to show bloggers how easy seafood is to prepare, using a variety of their frozen seafood products. The friendly and gracious folks from Sea Best (a family-owned company in business for over 60 years) threw one heck of a lovely party, with wine, appetizers, seafood samples, and cooking demos. They also sent each of us home with a bag filled with samples of their products.

Last night my husband used Sea Best frozen cod filets and shrimp to prepare a fresh, healthy, and tasty dinner for our family that only took about 20 minutes to create. He thawed the jumbo shrimp (that were already peeled, deveined, and cooked) for a simple, yet delicious shrimp cocktail that our kids devoured. Then he coated the cod in panko crumbs and pan fried the filets. He whipped up tartar sauce and served it with the cod along with rice pilaf and fresh green beans. Our seven-year-old asked for seconds of the fish and our five-year-old nearly ate his weight in shrimp.

quick, healthy, and tasty seafood options for families for dinner

We are a family of seafood lovers, so we never have to convince our kids to eat seafood. But, if your kids are resistant to seafood, cod is a great choice to get them excited about fish. It’s a mild-tasting, flaky fish that holds up well to frying and cooking. And, if you’re at a loss as to which fish and/or seafood your family might like best, Sea Best has a cool Fish Finder website that lets you plug in your family’s preferences. Based on what you select, the site produces a list of seafood you’ll enjoy, along with recipes for how to cook it.

Right now in San Antonio, Sea Best frozen seafood can be found at Walmart. If you’d like to see it in your local HEB (or other grocery store), print out this page and take it to your store manager.

Here’s a full set of photos from the Sea Best San Antonio blogger event at the CIA. I’m sure you’ll spot some of your favorite San Antonio mom bloggers. 🙂

Thanks to Sea Best for a wonderful evening!
