Whataburger’s 70th year anniversary is coming up. To celebrate, the beloved fast-food chain that began in Corpus Christi, Texas has launched a buy one get one free burger campaign until Sunday, August 9th. At its inception, Whataburger sold deliciously oversized hamburgers to Texas residents for 35-cents per burger and 15-cent per milkshake. They’ve since decided to honor their humble beginnings by offering a great deal for all customers who are interested.
If you’re interested in Whataburger’s buy one get one free burger deal, here are the stipulations: place an order through the Whataburger app or on their website. The Whataburger food order has to also include at least one #1 burger from the menu. Additional burger dressings, like cheese, won’t be included and will cost customers extra.
Whataburger CEO Ed Nelson has expressed his gratitude to not only the Whataburger patrons but also to the dedicated brand. He says “From all of us to all of you, thank you for the last 70 years, and get ready for the next 70. With the help of our tenured leadership team, the Whataburger Family, and BDT Capital Partners, the brand is taking innovative steps to meet the needs of the next generation of Whataburger fans – while still holding true to the things that matter to our longtime customers. Stay safe. We can’t wait to celebrate in person when the time is right.”
70 years of Whataburger is definitely something worth celebrating and while Whataburger has not been immune to the economic consequences of the pandemic, the fast-food chain has worked hard to stay in business. Many of the Whataburger dining rooms are closed, but drive-thrus are open and ready to take your buy one get one free burger deal order. If you and your family are looking for a fun night out and a great deal, you can swing through a Whataburger drive-thru until August 9th.
