Before we jump into sharing our posts this week, I’d like to invite you to be a little bolder in 2014, shine a little more brilliantly than usual, and be as beautiful as you always are (because you are, ya know?!).
#boldbrilliantbeautiful is a project Stacy with Kids Stuff World turned me on to. I’m still figuring out what it means (because she and the ladies who started it are figuring out exactly what it means to them too). But the premise seems pretty simple: break out of your comfort zone this year to embrace the brilliantly beautiful person you are by boldly going places and doing things you’ve shied away from before. I think. Well, that’s what it means to me. Maybe it’ll mean something different for you. And how cool will that be? Make it your own! When you do, blog about it or hashtag it on Instagram: #boldbrilliantbeautiful. I did, today:
Although I was kinda freaked out about sharing a pic of myself early this morning with no makeup on, I did it. It made me feel pretty bold. And a little bit beautiful. I heard from friends who thought I was those things too, which was a lovely boost, and all from just one little photo. Imagine what can happen when we really GO BOLD? Shivers! I’ve got ’em. Who’s with me?
If you’d like to do something bold this week, join me (and San Antonio mom bloggers Stacy, Claire, and Melanie!) at the TEDxSanAntonio Salon: Transcending Negative Body Image & Gender Stereotypes. This Saturday, February 1 (tickets available here), we’re helping lead discussions with women and men about the media’s role in our perceptions of beauty and how we can change and reinvent them. What is beautiful?
Now, show me what you’ve got. It’s time for the weekly Link Up!

Thanks for pinning, Patti!
Oh Colleen, I think you are bold and beautiful both inside and out and it doesn’t surprise me that you and Stacy have stepped forward to help with this great initiative. 😉 I’ve admired you both from afar a long time and look forward to getting to know you better. 😉
I’d like that very much, Rocio. I had fun talking with you at the Zoo event but that seems like ages ago!
I’m so inspired by this #boldbrilliantbeautiful challenge. I love the way Melissa puts it, that your kindness radiates. As does your boldness, beauty, and brilliance 🙂
Jessica, I completely see you as bold, brilliant, and beautiful too. You inspire me with your food posts, your posts about simplifying, and your lovely parenting style.
You are just beautiful! I love that photo of you!
Thanks, Sara. Your smile glows brightly every time I see you!
That is a great picture–you have amazing hair, I wish my hair was like that first thing in the morning. Great challenge, I’ll be thinking about it this week 🙂
Ashley, thanks! I do love my hair. I’d say it’s my best physical quality. Now I want to embrace all of my others. 🙂
You look amazing, as always!

Rachel, you are so kind. Thanks! You have been bold as long as I’ve known you. 😉 But being bolder can’t hurt any of us, I think.
