It’s hard to believe that football season is coming to a close already! In the biggest game of the season the Los Angeles Rams will take on the New England Patriots at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game is set for February 3 at 5:30 p.m. Central Time, and unless you have a few thousand to spend on some gameday seats, you’ll need a way to watch the show from the comfort of your own couch. The good news is that the Super Bowl airs on CBS, which means that you can watch the Super Bowl without cable. Let’s find out how!
Watch the Super Bowl Using an Antenna
The cheapest way to watch the Super Bowl is if you already have a digital antenna. An antenna will allow you to watch the Super Bowl and other TV for free after the initial purchase of the antenna. The good news is that an antenna can get you dozens of channels in most areas of San Antonio or wherever you live.
If you don’t have an antenna, they have ones in a variety of price ranges, so whether you want a short-range Mohu 30 indoor antenna or you need a longer range or even an outdoor antenna, you’ve got plenty of options.
Watch the Super Bowl Online
When most people think of streaming services, they might think of Hulu or Netflix. While those are great examples of on-demand streaming services, there are also plenty of live TV streaming services. You can use these to watch all of the shows you’d watch with cable, but for much less money. Sports are available along with movies, primetime TV shows, news, and more!
You can learn more about the services that will let you watch the Super Bowl online below. In the meantime, here are some basics you’ll find in most live streaming services.
- Cost ranges anywhere from $25 to $45 per month (sometimes more depending on the plan)
- No contracts – all streaming services offer no-commitment plans, which allow you to cancel at anytime
- No cable is needed, but Internet is required – these are streaming services, so you’ll need a streaming device and WiFi or other Internet connection.
- Watch anywhere from 30 to over 100 channels, depending on the package you choose
- Use the device of your choice including Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, Apple TV, mobile devices, gaming consoles, and more
Local access can vary on most streaming sites, depending on where you live. However, most big cities have access, so that shouldn’t be an issue for anyone in San Antonio. If you’re worried that one of the local channels you want won’t be available, you can check the channel lineup (including locals) on each service before you sign up!
