UTHealth is hiring COVID-19 contact tracers and case investigators in San Antonio. Starting pay will be at $15 an hour and the contact tracing is on behalf of Metro Health. As COVID-19 cases continue to spike in the Texas hill country and beyond, many hospitals and businesses are creating positions to help trace contact between people and trace the spread of the disease to limit transmission. All that you need to be eligible for this job is a high school diploma.

Aside from all of the other negative ramifications that the coronavirus has produced, perhaps one of the most debilitating is the massive rise in unemployment that has stemmed from the pandemic. Many have lost their livelihood due to COVID-19. If you’re left looking for a job, there are some available because of the pandemic.

The UTHealth School of Public Health in San Antonio hiring full-time and part-time contact tracers and case investigators for Metro Health.  Case investigators will have a starting salary of  $18 an hour and contact tracers will receive $15 an hour and according to the UTHealth website, both full-time and part-time positions are eligible for benefits.

The job listing states, “Case Investigators/Contact Tracers will be responsible for connecting with COVID-19 patients, as well as locating and counseling individuals those patients may have come into contact with during the course of their infection,”

Contact tracers will function to provide approved information about Texas’ quarantine procedures while also referring individuals to testing sites. UTHealth is hiring COVID-19 contact tracers but plans to prioritize hiring case investigators over contact tracers.
