If you’re looking for some ghoulish fun this Halloween season, look no further than the Fear Factory at Traders Village in San Antonio — the only haunted house in South San Antonio.
Throughout the month of October, the folks at Traders Village have put together the ultimate haunted experience through a run-down factory where you will be greeted by all types of terrors.
First, some details: Fear Factory is a night of spooky fun, but it’s not recommended for those under the age of 12, so just use judgement if you decide to bring your younger kiddos. (Also, don’t worry about any of the performers using vulgar language and actors are instructed to not touch any participants.)
Individual tickets for the night of fright are only $7.99, but for $21, you get access to an entire day of fun at Traders Village, including admission to the corny maze and all the rides you can handle. Parking is $4.
Traders Village San Antonio is located at 9333 Southwest Loop 410.
Fear Factory is an extreme experience with the scariest of audio and lighting. It’s going to be dark, so walk slowly. And depending on the weather, conditions could be wet or damn. Some of the walk could be physically demanding, so women who are pregnant aren’t recommended to participate in Fear Factory.
You can count on plenty of “jump scares” that will keep you on your toes. When you’re done, check out footage from the scare cam, which Traders Village has posted on its website in the past.
Throughout the day at Traders Village, there are plenty of shopping opportunities from jewelry to clothing, frame art, scooter and four-wheelers and furniture. The best shopping times are between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., but vendor gates open at 7 a.m.
In addition to shopping — and the haunted house! — you can take in unlimited rides (for a $21 pass), like Pharaoh’s Fury, a giant ship that races back and forth like a pendulum, sending its riders five stories above the market. And for the thrill seekers, take a ride on the Fleafall and drop 128 feet at 45 mph.
For the smaller kids, take them over to the Rumpus Room, helicopter ride or the trackless family train!
