However, the Tip Top Café has decided to reopen with a limited menu and curbside delivery options for all their fans!
The Fredericksburg Road diner is reopening for limited curbside service from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Their menu offers fan favorites such as hamburgers, catfish, and chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes. Many regular customers regard Tip Top’s onion rings as the best in the city and are also available for curbside service.
The announcement of the eatery’s closing was a shock to the community. Des Wese’s Tip Top Café has survived so many life-changing events including World War II. Management believed that the COVID-19 pandemic would keep the café closed for a long time.
But the Facebook announcement of the diner’s return sparked a lot of joy in these trying times. Many long time customers commented on the post that they had new dinner plans. One individual even said they had to stop by the café because it was their dad’s favorite eatery growing up.
