Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the SAMA! Enjoy a chill evening of themed tours, artmaking, and a special performance by the San Antonio Chinese Alliance Dragon Dance Team.

Because the weather should be beautiful Friday, consider strolling along the Riverwalk when you stop in. SAMA is only about 10 minutes from the Pearl, and there is plenty of art to see outside those curated walls.

Starting with an exclusive preview of the Orchids: Colorburst exhbition coming to the Botanical Gardens, this event will have you wishing spring could come sooner. Last year we saw the orchids scaling all the greenery in the Botanical Gardens’s exhibit room, so I can’t wait to see what they have going this year.

Nisa Kirami will discuss how they have evolved to attract pollinators and their interesting biology, highlighting species found in Texas to the Andean Cloud Forests.

While the event is free, it can be a challenge to find parking. Riverbend Garage is right across from the Briscoe, making it close and affordable.

While it may be a smaller Ren Faire, there are plenty of activities, performances, and opportunities to shop and spend your day. Some prefer the micro-dose of festivities, while others consider it a “warm-up” for larger faires like Sherwood.
