The Magik Theatre is streaming a free performance of Jack and the Beanstalk for the 4th of July. Those who are interested in watching Jack and the Beanstalk can stream it for free on The Magik Theatre’s 4th of July Facebook Live Watch Party. Many of people’s 4th of July plans have been changed or canceled due to the uncertainty that the spike in COVID-19 cases has lead to. If you’re looking for a fun and safe activity for your entire family to participate in on 4th of July, think about tuning into The Magic Theatre.
On Saturday, July 4th, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. families looking for a fun and socially distant 4th of July activity can log on and watch the Magik Theatre’s production. The cast and crew will be streaming a pre-recorded showing for families around San Antonio. Families and friends can also stream the production through The Magik Theatre’s YouTube and Vimeo sites from Friday, July 3 at 12:00 pm through Sunday, July 5 at 12:00 am.
The Magik Theatre has staged a production of Jack and the Beanstalk more than 150 times at over 250 schools across all of Texas. Students probably saw this wonderful production at school and can now tune in with their families to watch Jack and the Beanstalk together.
This online streaming is supported by Union Pacific and Whataburger who help the Magik Theatre tell the tale of Jack trading his best friend for three magic beans and the trouble that ensues after it. Jack’s trade is followed by a high-altitude adventure that leads him into the home of an angry giant. Jack is eventually able to learn that friendship is a greater treasure than magic beans or all the gold he could ever want. As families search for fun and safe activities to celebrate the 4th of July, The Magic Theatre attempts to provide fun and safe ways to enjoy local theatre.
