Kerrville Renissance Festival

Dental Health Month Event

Come out to The Dentists for Kids and enjoy food, vendors, games and fun! There will be face painting, balloon animals, a petting zoo and more!

Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive

Step back in time to celebrate our historic Texas roots and the kick-off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo! The parade features participants who represent the heritage of our Lone Star State and the Old West: Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Sam Houston Caisson, Texas Heritage Riders and of course, a herd of Texas Longhorns are just some of the snapshots that celebrate the legacy of our great State.

Where: Parade begins under I-35 at W Houston Street, proceeds east to Alamo St., turns south and ends at La Villita

San Antonio Rodeo

This festive dance in honor of Valentine’s Day is open to the community. There will be a selfie station, light refreshments and cool music!

Family Flashlight Night at the Botanical Garden

Get your flashlights and headlamps ready for Family Flashlight Night at the Garden and navigate through a light maze while you discover the nocturnal side of the Garden. Make shadow puppets and find your way through a Light Maze.

Asian Festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures

The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures presents their annual Asian Festival! The event features authentic foods, music, dance, martial arts, shopping, games and entertainment from China, to the Indian Sub-continent, and the island nations of the Pacific. The Festival features two stages, a martial arts demonstration area, children’s hands-on crafting area, anime activities, bonsai and ikebana displays, mahjong table and more.

Nature Discovery Series in Schertz

Get your children outdoors to discover the exciting nature right in our own backyard where they’ll be encouraged to explore, discover, and ask questions to help grow their knowledge of nature. This free program is designed for families with elementary-aged children, but older and younger siblings are also welcome. Valentine’s Kids Craft at Spring Creek Gardens

Come out for the “Cutie Pie Cacti” craft! Your child will create an adorable, one-of-a-kind painted cactus pot. They choose their favorite rocks and paints, and our staff will help them create their own cactus pot work of art for themselves or to give as a gift! Parents can make their own mini-cactus garden, too!

Planets in the Park

Join the San Antonio River Authority Join for an evening of sci-fi fun! The event will feature over-sized illuminated planets, a virtual reality experience, glow in the dark activity and giveaways, a 9 ft laser robot show, sci-fi characters, food trucks, and the largest viewing telescope in Texas.

Kid Fish & Historic Past Times at Landmark Inn

Join Landmark Inn (a State Historic Site) when they bring back the beloved Kid Fish event! Anglers from 5-17 will have the opportunity to catch and keep one of 1,000 rainbow trout fish stocked by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Preschoolers will be able to practice their fishing at a game just for tiny tots. There will also be volunteers from across Texas teaching and leading historic pastimes including baseball, parlor games, lectures on dueling and more!

Snowfest & Carnival in Universal City

Texas Open Chili Championship

Join Traders Village San Antonio for a Texas-size salute to the official state dish! At the Texas Open Chili Cookoff, the cooks will have a great time but the main reason for the event is to raise funds for the Texas Honor Ride who provide support and funds to the Wounded Warrior & Family Support Center at BAMC.

Free Heart Screening for Kids

Free heart screening for teens at the Piper Bass Memorial Student Center, thanks to AugustHeart. A parental waiver must be signed in order for your teen to receive a heart screening. Teens should wear loose fitting clothing. Screening includes an electrocardiogram (ECG) and if needed a limited 2-D echocardiogram (ECHO). The screening process typically takes approximately 20 minutes per student. NOTE: AVERAGE WAIT TIME VARIES. Screenings are offered at no charge. For those choosing to make an optional donation, $25 offsets the cost to screen one student. Register here.
