Acro-cats

Modern-day America has a strange love affair with cats. The rise of internet meme culture in many ways began with funny cat pictures, and today cats have for many people replaced dogs as man’s best friend. You know what’s better than funny cats, though? Cats performing amazing feats of acrobatics. If acrobat cats sound right up your alley, you’re in luck: the Amazing Acro-Cats are coming to San Antonio this month.

The Amazing Acro-Cats are the brainchild of Samantha Martin, a former animal trainer who worked in the commercial advertising and entertainment industries. Martin has used those years of expertise to develop a breathtaking squad of circus cats capable of performing stunts, tricks, and acrobatics capable of wowing any audience.

Martin’s troupe of cats can jump through hoops, roll on balls, ride skateboards, and more. The show even features Tuna and the Rock Cats, a one-of-a-kind rock band featuring an all-cat lineup that ‘plays’ instruments. Martin had to take a year off of touring with the Acro-Cats due to being diagnosed with cancer, but is now cancer free and back on the road with her fearless felines.

The Amazing Acro-Cats return to San Antonio’s Josephine Theatre this month for four days of performances you don’t want to miss – that is, if performing cats are your thing. Tickets range from $24 for general admission to $40 for “VICP” (Very Important Cat Person) and can be purchased online here.

Performances will be held on the following dates times:

  • Friday, January 25 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 26 at 3 & 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, January 27 at 1 & 5 p.m.
  • Monday, January 28, 7 p.m.

The Amazing Acro-Cats are suitable for all ages and put on a family-friendly show. Don’t forget to stick around after the show for a meet-and-greet session with Samantha Martin and her Amazing Acro-Cats!
