Columbus day

Columbus Day, or "Figure Out What to Do When Your Kids Have a Weird Day Off" day

That ever-important holiday, Columbus Day, is just around the corner. I’m sure you’ve made big plans for how you’ll celebrate on October 10, but…What? You don’t celebrate Columbus Day? OK. Me neither. Sure, he was an important guy (Tho’ I’m not even sure he actually “discovered” America. A historian on Wikipedia, Martin Dugard, credits Columbus not with getting here first, but staying.). But giving Columbus his own holiday AND giving children the day off from school? Parents everywhere are shaking their heads and realizing they haven’t planned anything to occupy their kids on this special day.

Never fear. #SAMoms are here! We’re gathering for a play date at the newly renovated Landa Library Park from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10. Bring your kids. Bring your coffee. Fresh air (and lots of ways to wear your kids out so they’ll sleep extra well later) provided free of charge.

For details and to RSVP, visit: #SAMoms Kids ‘n’ Coffee Tweetup.

I’m looking forward to meeting up with San Antonio moms!
