The San Antonio Botanical Garden is an oasis that everyone must visit. With 41-acres of greenery and plants right in the center of the city, the layout and atmosphere are truly breathtaking. What’s even better is that the Garden is open year-round making visits easy.

But if you’re looking to plan a visit now, you’re in luck. The San Antonio Botanical Garden has several events in July that’ll allow you to learn, explore, and have a good time. So take advantage of the opportunity to maximize your experience by attending one of these events.

Morning Flow with Alamo City Yoga

Begin this flow with a short walk through the garden space. After you’re warmed up, the actual work begins with a 50-minute instruction that’ll guide you through seated, standing, and balance postures. 
When: Saturday, July 3 | 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

LIVE in the Garden: Azul Barrientos & Friends 

Starting on Frida Kahlo’s birthday, the Botanical Garden invites anyone to enjoy a live performance on the lawn by Azul Barrientos. The musical tunes will go in harmony with the Frida Kahlo Oasis which is on display until November.
When: Tuesday, July 6 | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

DIY: Botanical Gin

Do you enjoy gin? Then learn how to make it. With fruit and spices, homemade gin is an actual threat. In this DIY course, you’ll learn about the history of gin and take the skill home with you. The event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Saturday, July 10 | 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
How much: $25

 

Zumba and Mimosa

Forget strolling around the Botanical Garden, try dancing around! Throughout this 45-minute Zumba class, there will be a mix of low and high-intensity moves. But after you’ve burned through them you’ll get to enjoy a mimosa and bites crafted by the Botanical Garden chef.
When: Saturday, July 10 | 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Desert Door Sotol Tasting

This tasting is another event inspired by the Frida Kahlo Oasis. Desert Door stool is a distilled spirit made from West Texas plants. Learn about the history and craft a cocktail to conclude the class. This event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Thursday, July 15 | 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
How much: $35

 

Foodie Cinema: My Big Fat Greek Wedding 

Looking to experience a film in a different way other than your couch? Then head to Foodie Cinema which will feature the classic culture-clash comedy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Besides the film, there will be Greek food like dolmas, braised lamb shank, liquor-soaked Bundt cake, and more! This event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Friday, July 16 | 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
How much: $55

 

Summer Market at the Botanical Garden

If you’re looking for a different farmer’s market in the city, try this one. Local and regional vendors that specialize in arts will be available for your viewing and purchasing. Besides the vendors, there will also be food and drinks for purchase.
When: Sunday, July 18 | 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
How much: Included with Garden admission

 

Salsa Dancing & Botanas!

Dust off the nice clothes and throw on some dancing shoes! This introductory salsa class will be led by the Semeneya Dance Studio. Make sure to bring a partner, a great date night idea, because after the class sangria will be served. This event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Friday, July 23 | 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
How much: $75 per couple

 

Make and Take: Frida’s Fiestas for Four

Frida’s Fiestas is a cookbook that was inspired by the dishes served in the Kahlo household. Follow along in this cooking class to learn how to make mole poblano, bean salad, and more while sipping on a lime margarita. You’ll get to take home the meal that serves four. This event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Thursday, July 29 | 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
How much: $90

 

Sips & Sunsets in the Garden

Another way to experience the Botanical Garden is by immersing yourself in them. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy some live music, delicious food, and fun games in the evening. Here you can sit and sip while watching the sunset over the city. This event is for ages 21 and up only.
When: Friday, July 30 | 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
How much: $30
