According to a study by WalletHub, San Antonio is among preferred travel destinations for summer 2021!
The pandemic lockdowns cancelled summer travel plans across the US in 2020. This summer may be a different story with more than 50% of Americans vaccinated and ready for safe travel. Domestic destinations are certainly more popular, especially those that offer a variety of things to do AND are kind on the wallet. WalletHub recently published a study ranking the best value US vacation destinations that are also easily accessible. The study analyzed 100 large metro areas with 42 different markers including local things to do, flight costs and COVID-19 cases.
Best Travel Destinations Summer 2021 – San Antonio Rank
San Antonio came in at #13 with a total score of 64.30. Austin came in at #4, Dallas #29 and Houston #46. This is a good indicator that the Alamo City will see a significant influx of visitors this summer. Tourists are excited to see all that San Antonio has to offer! Visitors will find many ways to enjoy the culture, history and cuisine in San Antonio – from the historic Alamo to the family friendly Sea World, from the hopping Pearl Brewery to the famous River Walk. San Antonio Fiesta (June 17 – 27) is also a highly anticipated event this summer. To top it all, the Hill Country around San Antonio is a relaxing vacation destination with bed and breakfasts, wineries, scenic spots and swimming holes galore.
