Last week three San Antonio mom bloggers, Misha, Amanda, and Megan, generously shared their photography talents with other SA mom bloggers. A head shot meetup was born!
We met at Bakery Lorraine.
Have you been there yet? You must go. Really. Now!
Try the macaroons. Any flavor. Their light and barely-there crispy outsides are the perfect introduction to the sweet pillowy goodness you find inside. I tried pistachio, raspberry, and pumpkin spice and I cannot stop thinking about them.
Bakery Lorraine is located in an adorable grey house with a cheerful yellow door on East Grayson. My son was particularly fond of peeking through the keyhole in the door.
The wraparound porch has a few tables and chairs and it provided a fun backdrop for shooting closeups of San Antonio’s lovely mom bloggers.
Misha Hettie, with Rock Candy Studios and Hello Misha, sat me in a chair on the patio and snapped my pic a few times. She tilted my chin left and then down a little. Then she had me jut my face forward.
My expression must have conveyed my slight discomfort at the unnatural pose because she quickly put me at ease. She reassured me that the best photos often result from the most awkward positions for the subject. She’s a professional and, of course, she was absolutely right. Don’t you think?
I’m thrilled with my new head shot. Thanks, Misha!
Misha is leaving San Antonio to move to Orange County, California. We’re all going to miss her very much but, thanks to the world wide web, she’ll never truly be far away.
