Museum Exhibits & Events In June 2021 in San Antonio
San Antonio Museum of Art: America’s Impressionism: Echoes of a Revolution

A new exhibit coming to the museum includes works by Texan artists which underscore the connection between the state and the American impressionism movement. The exhibition explores the American twist that artists gave to the French impressionist style when they returned home in the 19th century after a sojourn in Paris.

SAMA’s Ballet in the Garden
In collaboration with The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas, the museum has brought forth a new way to start summer mornings on three Sundays with a ballet workout in the Sculpture Gardens. Dust off your dance shoes for this month’s invigorating session alongside the river and skip to a few tunes especially because stepping out of our homes has never been more joyful.
When: Sunday, 13 June 2021, 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.

How much: $30 for members and $35 for non-members per class
The DoSeum: Summer Camps
Starting June, the museum has set up summer camps for kids which will stretch well into August and help the little ones explore their interests in STEM, arts, literacy sparking their innate curiosity and creativity. Children can learn and explore everything about marine life in the camp, By The Seashore, where as, in Dino Discovery, they have the opportunity to enter into the exciting world of paleontology. The camps are separated into three age groups from 3 to 4, 5 to 7 and 8 to 11.

McNay Art Museum: Drive Through Celebration: Limitless Fun!

A drive through the museum’s grounds to glimpse its new outdoor sculpture and the ongoing exhibit, Limitless! Five Women Reshape Contemporary Art. Activities like block printing with your car, distribution of creative kits and goodie bags are just among some of the beautiful things to do on a summer Sunday at the museum.
When: Sunday, 13 June 2021, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

McNay Art Museum: Optical Dazzle: Op Art at the McNay
What is going to beautifully complement the museum’s Limitless! exhibit along with the drive through is yet another project happening at McNay which features an installation of optical works that causes our eyes to twitch, cross and of course, dazzle. The exhibit includes among other things, small-scale, jewel-like works which present complementary colors to render an almost vibrating effect on the surface of the composition.
When: Thursday, 10 June 2021 to Sunday, 5 September 2021

The Witte Museum: Rise and Recharge | June
A guided Half Moon Power Yoga session including a sequence of balancing postures, syncing breath and movement. Get a friend to tag along for this mindful experience which will help participants recharge and rejuvenate with the arrival of a new month.
