San Antonio Museum of Art: Monet in America and Americans in Paris with Ross King

This July, attend a talk organized by the museum in which author Ross King will trace why Claude Monet continues to remain popular in America among the public and the collectors and why he was popular with young Americans who studied art in France. The lecture is an illustrated tour through the past and the present that in fact highlights how Monet was appreciated so much in the States, even more than in Paris among the French.

McNay Art Museum: Virtual Field Trip: Feliz Frida

For the uninitiated, the San Antonio Botanical Garden has set up the Frida Kahlo Oasis to mark the birth anniversary of this groundbreaking artist. In conjunction with this exhibit, McNay museum has set up a virtual tour this month that will take you through Kahlo’s connection with Mexican vegetation and the natural world.

From Medusa’s hair to Aztec serpent and eagle symbols, this talk will discuss everything you have ever wondered about ancient creepy crawlers and their motifs in art.

Witte Museum: Summer Camp

This season, don’t forget to check out the summer camps that the museum has organized for kids, young adults and teens. From museum exhibits to culinary art to surviving in the wild and even engineering design: could there be anything more fun? Briscoe Western Art Museum: National Day of the Cowboy

At this museum event in July celebrate westerns and the cowboys, cowgirls and vaquero with live music, arts and crafts for kids, a chuckwagon, tours of museum exhibits among other things. This day, which marks the cowboy culture and heritage of America is the best place for family fun this summer!

Blue Star Contemporary: AnOriginal Drive: Contemporary Art and Jazz

A broadcast and talk that features two artists Xavier Gilmore and Anthony Francis in a conversation that will focus on the production AnOriginal Drive, how it came to be and the relationship between contemporary art and jazz. If you are a jazz-head, this is the perfect place for you to be!
