Morgans Wonderland

Award-winning theme park Morgan’s Wonderland starts the 2019 season this Friday, March 1. This season marks the 10th season the theme park has been open. Morgan’s Wonderland is the world’s first theme park designed with special needs in mind and designed so that everyone regardless of ability level can come together for safe, family-friendly fun and the opportunity to get to know another better.

The 2019 will continue the park’s long-standing tradition of hosting special events in addition to offering a space for play where all are welcome. “The 2019 season promises to be another very busy one for Morgan’s Wonderland,” said Chief Operating Officer Ron Morander.  “Among the many highlights will be Texas Special Olympics’ Summer Games and the reopening of Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park May 11.”

On opening weekend, the park will host the National Wheelchair Basketball Association’s Southwest Junior Wheelchair Basketball Conference Championships at the Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center. After opening weekend, the park will be open daily from March 11-16 for Spring Break and will host a wide range of special entertainment activities and events under the theme of “Music, Mutts, Magic, and More.”

When visitors enter Morgan’s Wonderland this season, they will notice a whole host of new features and upgrades. “Our guests will notice several improvements when they visit Morgan’s Wonderland this season,” Morander says.  “We’ve expanded our Welcome Center to make it quicker and easier to enter the park, and we’ve transformed the Main Street Pavilion on the shoreline of our lake into a special-events venue that can accommodate up to 80 individuals.” In addition, the park has expanded the Microsoft Sensory Village where visitors can engage with a variety of interactive play elements that stimulate the senses.
