Fourth of July fireworks in San Antonio in 2014

Here’s your list of family-friendly Fourth of July fireworks displays and celebrations for 2014 in San Antonio and surrounding communities. Happy Independence Day!

City of San Antonio 4th of July Celebration at Woodlawn Lake
Friday, July 4, 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
This celebration, the official City of San Antonio 4th of July Woodlawn Lake Park Celebration, started in 2000 and it’s a local favorite. A day of activities includes: 2k Firecracker Family Fun Run; children’s parade, live music, military appreciation zone, kids’ zone, and the 9:30 p.m. fireworks extravaganza provided by HEB.

The Schertz Jubilee
Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4, Pickrell Park
The City of Schertz, just outside of San Antonio, up IH-35 North, hosts the Schertz Jubilee every year. This two day festival, which starts on July 3 and runs through July 4, includes live music, a 5k run, a parade, BBQ cook off, a carnival, and fireworks.

Boerne, Texas Fourth of July Fireworks
Friday, July 4, 8:00 p.m., Boerne City Park
Each year in Boerne, the fireworks shoot high above the Boerne City Park. Grab a chair or a blanket and watch the show!

New Braunfels, Texas, HEB July 4th Spectacular
Friday, July 4, 6:30 p.m., Landa Park
New Braunfels kicks off their 4th of July party at 6:30 with live music and they wrap up the celebration with a traditional fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Kirby, Texas, Fireworks in the Park
Friday, July 4, 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., Friendship Park
Kirby’s annual Independence Day celebration includes games and activities for all ages, live music, a car show, and fireworks.

Freedom Fest, Market Square in downtown San Antonio
Friday, July 4 (noon – 6:00 p.m.), Saturday, July 5 (noon – 8:00 p.m.), Sunday, July 6 (noon – 6:00 p.m.)
This weekend-long 4th of July celebration at Market Square (aka El Mercado) features live music, food and drinks for purchase, and shopping. The Spazmatics perform on Saturday night.

Leon Valley 4th of July Fun and Fireworks Spectacular Celebration
Friday, July 4th, 8:00 a.m. – fireworks at dusk with activities all day long, Raymond Rimkus Park, 6440 Evers Rd.
Leon Valley’s 4th of July celebration starts at 8:00 a.m. with a 5k on and off trail run, followed by a parade at 10:00 a.m., opening ceremonies at 11:00 a.m.,  food, drinks, music, performances all day, and fireworks at dusk. No outside food and beverages allowed.

Traders Village Fourth of July Celebration (on Sunday), Brown Expo
Sunday, July 6th, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Traders Village celebrates the 4th of July on Sunday, the 6th of July with free activities for kids. The first 3,000 guests receive free American flags.

Stars and Stripes Over San Antonio, Alamodome
Friday, July 4, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Hosted by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, this family-friendly festival at the Alamodome is $2 per person to attend. However, those with active duty military ID cards and kids 12 and under get in free. The celebration includes food trucks, live music, a kids’ zone, and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

SeaWorld’s 4th of July Celebration
Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5
Included in your SeaWorld San Antonio admission on these days is SeaWorld’s fireworks extravaganza over Ski Lake.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas July 4th Fest
Friday, July 4 – Sunday, July 6
In addition to special 4th of July deals that include early access to some rides with admission, Six Flags also presents their fireworks extravaganza on each of these nights.
