Ever since my kids were babies, I’ve loved the clothes from The Children’s Place. They’re comfortable, durable, fashionable, and affordable. When they contacted me to review their 2013 Holiday line with a complimentary gift card, I jumped at the chance. I couldn’t wait to see what trends my kids would be sporting this holiday season.
For holiday photos I prefer to dress my kids in non-traditional colors (usually no reds and greens). Back in 2010 I headed to The Children’s Place for inspiration for our family photo shoot and found gorgeous pieces in royal blue, silver, and cream. I love how silver paired with bold blue conjures up the image of icy, bright winter days (even though in San Antonio our winters are generally pretty tame. It’s still fun to pretend, right?).

This year I wanted something equally stunning yet still not quite traditional. The Children’s Place came through again (although my kids and having a photo shoot did not! Now that they’re older, it’s tougher to get them to model for me. But check out these beautiful pieces I picked out for them anyway.).
I adore the sophisticated combination of pink, silver, and charcoal grey in children’s wear. The stripes are formal but the pink lends a hint of whimsy – the perfect look for kids during the holidays.
What else is hot this holiday season? Sparkles and leopard print rule for girls while boys will be sporting layers, plaids and graphic tees.
And what child wouldn’t love critter hats with matching gloves and scarves? When I came home from my shopping trip without any of these, my kids had a fit! Guess who’s heading back to The Children’s Place to pick up a few for Christmas gifts? I only hope our San Antonio winter provides us with a few really cold days to make them necessary instead of just trendy!
The Children’s Place sets its style apart from other retailers by creating runway-inspired, mini-me looks that moms will love as much as their kids do. In fact, I caught one blogger (who’s fortunate to have dainty feet) trying on a pair of leopard flats. How’d those work out for you, Tori? 😉
Are you still looking for that perfect ensemble for your child’s holiday photos? Or maybe you’re in the doghouse for not outfitting your kids in critter hats? Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. Just enter for your chance to win a $25 gift card from The Children’s Place.
Pinned and tweeted! Love the hats!
Thanks for sharing my post, Patti! Yes, I’ve got to get back there to grab some of those adorable hats.

Isn’t it gorgeous? I love those colors together.

Yes, Sandy! What is your sweet girl wearing this holiday season?
Love the pictures of you and the kids!!
Thanks, Tori! I hadn’t looked at those pics in ages and there are so many good ones from that photo shoot. Makes me think I need to have a session done this year too. Haven’t booked on yet. I’d better get on that. 🙂
Ahhh! Can you believe I have two girls under the age of 4 and I’ve never stepped foot in The Children’s Place!?! Soon! Beautiful pictures of you and the kids too!
No, I cannot believe that, Jessica. Go. NOW! LOL. 🙂
I seriously love the outfit you picked for your daughter! That dress will look amazing on!
Thanks, Katie! I’m in love with it. I hope to actually get a few shots of her wearing it, too. 🙂
I have to go and get hats and ties for Bear! So many cute clothes and I really like your non-traditional colors idea.
