According to its to its third annual ranking that was released last week, Forbes magazine has named H-E-B one of the best companies in the United States for women to work for. The San Antonio grocery store ranked number 82 out of 300 companies that spanned 31 competitive industries and landed at number 6 in Retail and Wholesale. H-E-B continues to collect accolades from both local and national figures as an excellent company.
Forbes Magazine partnered with Statista, a well-known market research firm to survey and rank 75,000 Americans, including 45,000 women that work for businesses that employ more than 1,000 workers. Throughout the research process, Forbes Magazine as interviewees to share their thoughts on their company’s culture, the opportunity for career development, working conditions, diversity, image, and salary. They concluded it’s one of the best companies for women to work for.
The survey was conducted in the months of March and April, just as the coronavirus pandemic began to take hold and take over the United States. Along with H-E-B as a top-ranking company were other well-known brands such as REI clothing store. Additionally, Unilever was given the second spot, while Ulta Beauty took third.
This is not the first time that H-E-B has gained local and national attention for its excellent working conditions and dedication to excellent customer service. Texans have been praising H-E-B and it’s consistent ability to step up and serve as a stable business in the midst of the pandemic. The grocery chain has also recently begun a Summer of Giving initiative in the month of August to feed hungry Texans.
As H-E-B continues to collect praise, now from Forbes magazine as a good place for women to work, KPMG, a global network of professional firms that was released in July, H-E-B was given the title of the second-best company with the best customer experience. Furthermore, H-E-B was also named the top grocery store in the United States by Food & Wine magazine in July and by Dunnhumby, a global research company in January.
