H-E-B is expanding its store hours back to a more normal schedule. The COVID-19 pandemic caught many people off guard including giant San Antonio based grocery chain H-E-B. However, the company worked hard to keep shelves stocked during the panic buying phase of the pandemic while also protecting workers and shoppers alike. Now they’ve decided to expand their store hours again beginning Monday, August 24th.
Most H-E-Bs in the San Antonio area will open at 6:00 am and stay open until 11:00 pm. One thing that did not subside during quarantine is the late-night craving for comfort foods such as microwave popcorn and blue bell ice cream. With the local H-E-Bs closing early, patrons were forced to purchase their late-night quarantine comfort snacks from other places, but no longer.
Along with their success in serving the hill country of Texas during the first global pandemic, H-E-B has also received national recognition as one of the best grocery chains for women to work. Furthermore, they’ve also implemented a summer giving program that allows them to partner with local charities and assists in getting nutritional meals to the hungry during the confusing and trying times that COVID-19 has created.
