Here are a few links to check out before you dive headfirst into your awesome weekend:
Heading to the opening weekend of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo? Before you go, read Debi’s SA Busy Kids post, Plenty of Kids’ Activities at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. With Debi’s super guide your kids won’t miss one bit of fun (and parents might even save a few bucks when you follow her advice). Yee haw, y’all!
Emily’s post at Definining Delicious, Trading Red Roses for Red Meat, details romantic dining options across the city so you can get back to romance (at least for one night) before morphing back into parents again.
Heather, with Geekette Bits, shares a whole bunch of great Valentine’s Day Printables for both kids and adults. Print some out this weekend and have your kids create their own Valentine’s for friends and family.
And, if you didn’t catch this story earlier in the week, moms are mobilizing this weekend with a JCPenney Shop-In. A group called One Million Moms called for JCPenney to fire Ellen DeGeneres, who is a spokesperson for the brand, because she is gay. Many other moms cried out at the injustice of discriminating against someone because of their sexual orientation and a movement was born. According to the “JCPenney Shop-In” Facebook page started by blogger Tracey of Sweetney: “We believe that love and acceptance are family values – not hate and bigotry – and so we’re very proud of JCPenney for standing up to One Million Moms and retaining Ellen DeGeneres as its spokesperson. And we’re going to put our money where our mouths are by organizing a ‘Shop-In’ on Sunday, February 12.” If you’re a mom who supports these values, along with Ellen and JCPenney, and you want to take a stand, shop JCPenney in person or online this Sunday, take a photo of yourself shopping there, and share it across your social networks with the hashtag #jcpshopin.
Have a great weekend!
