Free family fun this August in San Antonio!

Can you believe a full month has flown by already!? I’m already seeing school supplies in stores so I guess it’s time to think about back to school. My kids want to make the most of what’s left of summer, though, so we are going to take advantage of it as much as possible. Use this list of Free in San Antonio to schedule some fun for your family!

LEGO Americana Roadshow! For this special tour, master builders have built the nation’s most iconic landmarks out of LEGO bricks. Ten one-of-a-kind, large scale models of American landmarks made completely out of LEGO bricks by LEGO Master Builders – including the U.S. Capitol Building, White House, Supreme Court, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and Old North Church – take over North Star Mall and entertain customers with stunning visuals and fun facts.

Additional onsite visuals and activities:

  • LEGO Brick Play Area: Children of all ages can build whatever their imaginations dream up

Free admission to The DoSeum on the first and third Tuesday of every month! Only the first 1,200 guests will be admitted so arrive early. Parking is free but limited – another good reason to be there early. Remember: no outside food allowed and umbrella strollers only inside the museum. The cafe will be open with food and drinks for sale.

The Balcones Heights Jazz Festival has been captivating South Texas jazz fans for over 22 years. Enjoy this free concert series on the amphitheater lawn on a first-come, first-served basis. FREE, once-a-month workshops for kids, ages 5 – 12 at participating Home Depot stores. This week, your child will build a Skate Board Pencil Box. Kids’ workshops are on a first come/first served basis. Register your child online ahead of time to make sure there is room available.

Move. Fit. Live. hosts themed workout parties once every 3 months where we workout, participate in fitness challenges and group studio classes, enjoy shakes and snacks from various vendors, all while the DJ has us grooving and moving. Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair is 4.1 acres and we are going to utilize every bit of it! From multiple DJs, to our MFL Classes, to local health and wellness vendors, to an obstacle course, all the way to receiving a massage and food after your workout, it’s going to be a BIG BASH! Free Second Saturday and Kidcation at the Institute includes branding and bolo-tie crafts. Kids can practice their roping skills, settle in for vaquero story time, or get their hands dirty with crafting activities. Special guests from Casa Navarro and Blue Star Museums will join in the Second Sunday activities. Blue Star Museums will have giveaways for military families.
