What better escape from back-to-school and the hustle and bustle of daily life than to see free movies in San Antonio this fall? There are plenty of free (and almost-free!) movies to keep you and your kids entertained. And, many of them are outdoors so you can enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Alamo Drafthouse Military Appreciation Month (Sept.)
San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Laredo locations

Alamo Drafthouse celebrates Military Appreciation Month during September: all films* are free for any active or retired military personnel and first responders (firemen, policemen and EMTs). Show your Military ID or valid affiliation at the box office. *Excludes Disney films, Special Events, Food & Film events, and is only valid at at San Antonio, Laredo, and New Braunfels locations.

Southtown Cinema
Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair Park

Southtown Cinema is a partnership between Hemisfair and local businesses to bring free movie series in the park to the community. Live music and drinks start at 7:30 p.m. Come early to have fun before the show starts!

Free Community Movie night hosted by Steel City Pops and Slab Cinema showing Young Frankenstein at 7:00 p.m. Steel City Pops will be offering a free dip for anybody who wears their Halloween costume to the event! Bring your own blanket or lawn chair. Parking in the lot is free, first come first serve.

Mission Marquee Plaza
3100 Roosevelt Ave.

Free, outdoor movies run at the old Mission Drive-in Theater this summer on select evenings. Now known as the Mission Marquee, this outdoor theater invites patrons to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the show!
