FREE Swimming
Four public San Antonio pools are now open on select dates and hours, May 3 – June 14 (then regular summer hours kick in)
Memorial Day – Labor Day 2014
Free museum admission for active duty military (including National Guard and Reserve) and up to five family members
Courtesy of Blue Star Museums. Participating San Antonio museums include: The Alamo, the Institute of Texan Cultures, the Casa Navarro State Historic Site, the McNay Art Museum, and the San Antonio Museum of Art. Visit the Blue Star Museums website for FAQs and more information.
Tuesday, May 20, San Antonio Children’s Museum, 305 E. Houston Street, 78205, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
HEB Free Family Night at the San Antonio Children’s Museum. Kids and adults receive free admission to the San Antonio Children’s Museum every third Tuesday. Parking in downtown lots is free on Tuesday nights too!
Wednesday, May 21, Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes (8:00 p.m.), Park North (8:00 p.m.), and Stone Oak (7:00 p.m.)
Free admission (all ages welcome!) to watch the Spurs on the Drafthouse’s super big screen against the Oklahoma City Thunder. An 18% gratuity will be added to any food and beverage checks during Spurs screenings.
Thursday, May 22, Arneson River Theater, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)
Lone Star Live Summer Concert Series presented by The Current
The free, all-ages inaugural concert features San Antonio bands Creatura, Lonely Horse, and Crown. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The series continues on June 17, July 15, and August 21.
Saturday, May 24, Landa Gardens, 233 Bushnell, 78212, 10:00 a.m.
This Saturday, families can enjoy listening to singer and songwriter Owen Duggan at the Valero pavilion. San Antonio mom blogger Inga, with San Antonio Charter Moms, has more details about all of the free Landa Gardens Month events in May.
Saturday, May 24, Crib & Kids, 1309 N Loop 1604 W, 78258, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Crib and Kids celebrates their one-year anniversary with a free carnival for families in front of their store in the Vineyard Shopping Center. Activities include a bounce house, balloon and caricature artists, popcorn, candy, other refreshments, vendor booths, special sales, and more than $5,000 in prizes. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Any Baby Can.

Family-friendly yoga

Deals and Wheels small business expo and car show. This free, family-friendly event showcases some of San Antonio’s small businesses and provides free entertainment for the whole family including kids’ activities, shopping, car show, and food trucks.

Return of the Chili Queens. This free, three-day festival brings together great live music, food booths, and shopping this Memorial Day weekend.
