On the first Tuesday of each month, LEGO Stores provide a limited quantity of free mini model sets for kids ages 6-14. One free per child while supplies last.

Free admission (all ages welcome!) to watch the Spurs on the Drafthouse’s super big screen in Game 1 against the Portland Trailblazers. An 18% gratuity will be added to any food and beverage checks during Spurs screenings.

Gather your train lovers and head downtown to celebrate National Train Day at our local Amtrak Station in San Antonio. This free, family-friendly event includes tours of the vintage Southern Pacific steam locomotive No. 794; safety presentations; and awe-inspiring exhibits by talented local hobby and model train shops and enthusiasts, including the  Texas LEGO Users Group. Free parking available at the VIA’s Ellis Alley Park and Ride lot located at nearby 212 Chestnut Street.

Free Family Art Day takes place at Inspire Art every second Saturday of the month.

This Saturday, families can participate in the free “Art in the Park” community art project as part of the Landa Gardens Month, free events for families every Saturday in May at the Valero pavilion. Attend a free (all ages) lecture about, and demonstration of, the over 200-year-old craft of Mexican Papel Picado, or punched paper, by Kathleen Trenchard, author of the book, Mexican Papercutting. Each second Sunday in May, July, and August in 2014, the Institute of Texan Cultures waives their admission fee for the entire day. Spend Mother’s Day enjoying one of San Antonio’s wonderful museums for free!
