Snakes Alive! Ever wonder what a snake feels like? Hold a friendly snake and learn about reptiles as the South Texas Herpetology Association presents reptile information and live animals from Blaine Eaton. Kid-friendly activity is included. No registration is required. Free to attend but a donation of $3 per person or $5 per family is appreciated.

Saturday, April 1: Home Depot locations around San Antonio, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
FREE, once-a-month workshops for kids, ages 5 – 12 at participating Home Depot stores. This week, your child will build a Bunny Basket. Kids’ workshops are on a first come/first served basis. Register your child online ahead of time to make sure there is room available.

Free admission to The DoSeum on the first and third Tuesday of every month! Only the first 1,200 guests will be admitted so arrive early. Parking is free but limited – another good reason to be there early. Remember: no outside food allowed and umbrella strollers only inside the museum. The cafe will be open with food and drinks for sale.

CNC: Little Explorers! Little Explorers will come for fun and adventure using their five senses to discover nature. They will listen to stories, sing songs, play games, explore the outdoors, and make crafts to take home. $5 per family. Wednesday, April 5: Raymond Rimkus Park, 6440 EversRd., 78238, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
SAAA members will have telescopes set up to show you various objects in the night sky at this Star Party. Astronomers will be setup in the large parking lot near the intersection of Cherryleaf St. and Poss Road. **This is a free event open to the public, however it is dependent on the weather so if it is cloudy or raining the event will be canceled. Check the SAAA Facebook page for updates.

The San Antonio Book Festival is a FREE, annual, daylong event that unites readers and writers in a celebration of ideas, books, libraries, and literary culture. Featuring more than 100 authors, the Festival offers programming for all ages and draws thousands to downtown San Antonio at the Central Library and Southwest School of Art for author presentations, panel discussions, book sales and signings, recipe demonstrations, children’s and teen activities, food trucks, and a vibrant marketplace. Author presentations are held indoors while outdoors the Festival grounds are active with book sales, signings, children’s story time, learning projects, family activities, and a zone for teens, “Geektown.”

2017 Mission Reach Float Fest! The 2nd annual free event on the Mission Reach section of the San Antonio River is sure to become a family favorite. The public is encouraged to decorate their kayaks, canoes or paddle boards, wear a costume, or wear a fun and festive hat and paddle a one (1) mile portion of the Mission Reach paddling trail where guest judges will look at all the entries (be sure to register here if you plan to decorate and float!). In addition to viewing the watercraft decorating competition, the public will be invited to enjoy other festivities that include music, outdoor and educational activities, mobile food truck vendors, and more.

The family-fun event will increase creative and cultural awareness in San Antonio. During Bubble Fest, participants will create bubble makers inspired by artist Rivane Neuenschwander’s whimsical and ephemeral artwork. Bubble “stations” will be set up throughout the park to inspire play and activate the park as a visual art green and eco-friendly space. Guests will enjoy music and live storytelling with San Antonio-based acclaimed artist duo Hills and Caralyn Snyder.

Join Camp Gladiator as they host a FREE Friday evening fitness camp that promises a fun and motivating environment where men and women of all ages and fitness levels can push themselves to reach their goals. There is no fee for these classes. Camp Gladiator’s mission is to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible!

Take a break from Fiesta activities in San Antonio to join park rangers for a morning of exploration at Rancho de las Cabras! The site, which is part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, was the ranch associated with Mission Espada. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn why the site is protected by the National Park Service. Experts will lead three programs during the event, but the public is also welcome to explore on their own! Fiesta de las Cabras is free and family-friendly. Participants should bring water and snacks and dress for the weather. Parking on site is limited, carpooling is encouraged. The event is weather permitting.
