Father’s Day is June 19th. If you’re like me, you like to spoil your dad or the father of your kids. Here are some things to make Dad feel special without breaking the bank!
Free fun and events for Dad
Saturday, June 18: Lakeshore Learning, 327 NW Loop 410, 78216, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Free craft for kids. This week kids create a Out of This World! Card for Dad.
Sunday, June 19, Alamo Beer, 202 Lamar, 78202, 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
FatherFest at Alamo Beer! Free entrance with food & drink available for purchase: Several food trucks will be here competing to qualify for our Alamo Food Fight event. A $15 tasting ticket will get you five 2oz samples from the truck of your choice and you can vote for your favorite. A $25 tasting ticket will get you a FatherFest pint glass, your first beer, five 2oz samples from the truck of your choice and you can vote for your favorite. Each food truck will have their menu available too. The Urology Place will be offering free onsite PSA testing for first 300 men. There will also be a grilling challenge that randomly pairs celebrity chefs with dads from the crowd, Kiolbassa workshops, a washer tournament with prizes, live music, and a bouncy castle and big slide for the kids.

Every dad dining at participating Shoney’s on Father’s Day gets a FREE slice of famous Pecan Pie with purchase of Father’s Day buffet or an adult entree. Dine in only. Available at participating locations on Sunday, June 19, 2016 only.

Saturday, June 13, Michael’s Craft Store (Multiple Locations), 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
For $2, kids 3 and up can drop in to make a Father’s Day Duct Tape Frame. In about 30 minutes, they’ll have a completed project to take home to dad.

6th Annual Dia de los Daddys Car Show and Swap Meet. Enjoy fun foods like hot dogs, chips, and 12 oz. sodas for only one dollar each, while supplies last. Free admission, $4 parking per vehicle.
