There are lots of great events during Fiesta for families but one of my favorite is the Fiesta Arts Fair (@FiestaArtsFair), held the first weekend of Fiesta on Saturday and Sunday (April 21 and 22 this year), on the grounds of the Southwest School of Art. Sure, there’s great food (and wine too!) and an incredible variety of art for sale from 110 select artists. But what my daughter and I love most about Fiesta Arts Fair is the Children’s Art Garden where kids can visit several art stations to create their own art to take home with them.
Last year, Delaney practically flew from table to table, working with beads, paint, metal embossing, stamps, paper, clay, and more. My girl thrives when she’s exercising her creative muscle and The Fiesta Arts Fair not only embraces creativity — it celebrates it. I finally had to stop buying gorditas and raspas so my hands could be free to carry all of her artwork home with us.
Tickets to the Fiesta Arts Fair are available online. They’re just $5 for kids ages 5-12 and $10 for adults. Kids under five are free. Ticket sales help support the educational programs at the non-profit Southwest School.
Viva Art! Viva Fiesta!

Some Fiesta events can definitely be overwhelming. Especially when taking little ones. But Fiesta Arts Fair is one of the more family-friendly events. I think you and Juniper will love it!
