The Literary Death Match
The day wraps up with a hilariously witty and fun fundraising event for the San Antonio Public Library Foundation: The Literary Death Match. Four authors read selections from their work and they’re judged on literary merit (by judge Luis Alberto Urrea, Pulitzer Prize finalist & member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame), performance (by judge Molly Cox, chief of engagement for San Antonio’s SA2020 and TEDxSanAntonio emcee), and intangibles (by judge Wendi Aarons, humor writer of USWeekly’s Fashion Police, co-creator of @paulryangosling).

Two finalists are selected and they’ll fight to the verbal death, on stage, using audience participation to determine the ultimate winner. Tickets for the VIP Festival Club Reception and seating for on the Orchestra level are $50 each or $300 for a reserved table of four. Enjoy cocktails, savory bites and live music by Cryin’ D.T. Buffkin from 5:30-6:30pm. Or, you can get in on the LDM action with a $10 general admission ticket on 2nd floor Mezzanine (includes live music and a cash bar. The LDM program begins at 7:00pm. Order tickets online here or call 210.225.4728 ext. 16 to purchase.
