San Antonio Zoo Boo is back for 2020, and it’s the best place in town for kids 12 and under to enjoy non-scary Halloween fun daily through Halloween. If you’re a parent, you need to take your kids to Zoo Boo to see all it has to offer – plus it’s free with general admission. Take a peek at our video tour from years prior below and then learn the 5 reasons we think you should take your kids to Zoo Boo in San Antonio this year. And don’t forget to scroll down for answers to frequently asked questions about Zoo Boo.

1. Zoo Boo is free for members and it’s included in admission for non-members.
Are you a member of the San Antonio Zoo? Then you and your family can enjoy Zoo Boo for FREE! And, for those who are not members, your ticket price includes most Zoo Boo activities like trick-or-treating, hay maze, hay slide, costume contests, Monster Mash, Magik Theater, Bat Boogie Parade, and more. There is a small charge for a few activities for both members and non-members (painting pumpkins, carnival games, the carousel, and the train ride). But the majority of activities at Zoo Boo are included at no additional cost.

2. Zoo Boo runs daily from September 19th through October 31st.
Take advantage of the gorgeous late September and October weather to spend time with your family at Zoo Boo. Now that our hot summer season is almost over (It is almost over, right? Please let it be over!), the animals are out and more active than ever. And, San Antonio Zoo Boo offers so many fun, non-scary Halloween activities for kids 12 and under.

3. There’s trick-or-treating!
Trick-or-treating occurs daily through the end of October. While at the Zoo be sure to pick up your special Zoo Boo trick-or-treat bag at the stations around the Zoo (designated with purple and orange umbrellas). Kids 12 and under can collect candy at 20 trick-or-treat stations throughout the Zoo. And on Fridays, you can trick-or-treat from your car from 5-8 pm.

4. Costume contests are offered twice daily.
Last year during Zoo Boo, kids 12 and under could enter costume contests at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. No word on the times yet this year, but we will update when we find out

5. Fall and Halloween photo backdrops.
Do you love family photos in the fall? The San Antonio Zoo offers a wide variety of special photo spots that are perfect for fall and Halloween. Be sure to bring your camera to capture your cuties in their costumes.
