Country music singer and coach on NBC’s The Voice Blake Shelton has announced a surprise pop-up concert in San Antonio tomorrow, September 21st at one of San Antonio’s best venues for country music: Cowboys Dancehall. Shelton’s team made the announcement through the superstar’s Twitter account, declaring it “another surprise” in a series of unannounced pop-up shows the singer has been putting on this month.
The surprise pop-up shows are not only a way for Shelton to give back to his adoring fans, but also are likely intended to help boost Shelton’s chances at winning a 2018 E! People’s Choice Award. The award is given each year to the best people and performances in popular culture and is voted on by the general public. Shelton has been nominated for the Best Country Artist of 2018 alongside other stars like Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, and Sam Hunt.
Local country music station Y100, San Antonio’s New Country Leader, will be giving away exclusive VIP tickets all week long which guarantee admission to the show. Meanwhile, San Antonio’s #1 For New Country KJ97 will be giving out regular tickets every hour this week through Friday. Listen in to both stations this week for instructions on how to enter to win these free tickets.
