One of San Antonio’s most exciting and popular events, The San Antonio Rodeo will take place from February 11-28, 2021, and will be held at the Freeman Coliseum. Despite the continual coronavirus, the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo will still be held in 2021. The organizers of the rodeo released today that they plan to move the event to Freeman Coliseum in order to comply with safety standards and do their best to keep employees and guests alike healthy during this uncertain time.
Executive Director and CEO Cody Davenport explains “Our mission of helping educate the youth of Texas is at the forefront of all that we do and holding our Rodeo, livestock show and competitive events are critical for educating future generations. In order to comply with current health and safety guidelines, the Freeman Coliseum is the most viable option to hold our event while ensuring we fulfill our mission.”
This year, the San Antonio Rodeo will host livestock shows, a rodeo, and a carnival. As time draws nearer to the rodeo season, the information will be periodically released on the organization’s website. Moving the event to Freeman Coliseum provides more space and opportunity to bolster the health of all those involved in the planning of the rodeo and the organization feels confident that they can move forward with their plans to entertain the citizens of San Antonio in a fun, healthy, and safe manner.
This year, the San Antonio Rodeo ticket includes options for many different events. Guests will be able to access the stock shows which will feature cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, and goats. There will also be a number of family-friendly activities that guests can safely participate in like the petting zoo and pony rides for younger aged children. The rodeo will also have educational exhibits that teach farm-to-table practices in place for families to explore and learn from.
